This system maintains the melt at a stable temperature, minimizing material waste associated with traditional runners and improving flow characteristics. Precise temperature controllers and well-designed heater layouts are used to avoid dead spots and thermal degradation of the polymer. The hot runner manifold and nozzles are engineered to provide balanced flow to all four cavities, ensuring that each sheath fills uniformly.The cold aisle (cold runner) portion is integrated to manage flow transition, cooling, and part ejection. It helps control the temperature gradient between the main melt channel and the cavity entrance, improving shear conditions and reducing internal stress in the molded sheath. Efficient cooling channels are arranged around the cavities and core pins, allowing rapid and uniform cooling. This contributes to shorter cycle times, reduced warpage, and dimensional stability of the final products.Core pins in each cavity are precisely aligned to form the inner bore of the sheath. The design includes accurate guiding and support to prevent deflection during injection, maintaining concentricity and tight tolerances. Venting is carefully placed at the parting lines and other critical points to release trapped air, preventing burn marks, short shots, and weld line weakness.The mold incorporates a robust ejection system, typically including ejector pins, sleeves, or stripper mechanisms tailored to the geometry of the sheath. Ejection force is distributed evenly to avoid deformation, especially in thin-walled areas.
